The National Mathematical Centre, ably led by Prof. Edna Mathews Njoku, Visits HRH Etsu Luka Ayedo Nizassan III

On the 24th of September, 2025, a delegation from the National Mathematical Centre (NMC), led by the Council Chairman, Prof. Edna Mathews Njoku, paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness, Etsu Luka Ayedo Nizassan III, the ruler of Kwali, host community to the Centre.

The delegation included the Director General, Prof. Promise Mebine; Council members Hon. Kovie Andrew Epetuku, Hon. Oyinkansola Okewoye, Hon.  Ibrahim musa and Hon. Serah Shekwonya Tukurah; representatives of ministries, agencies, and institutions; as well as the Registrar, Bursar, Librarian, and other notable staff of the Centre.

The long-anticipated visit marked a new beginning in strengthening the cordial relationship between the NMC management team and the host community. It provided an opportunity for meaningful discussions on how to further transform the Centre to effectively deliver on its mandate.

In her remarks, the Chairman of Council, Prof. Edna Njoku, expressed appreciation to HRH and the people of Kwali for their peaceful coexistence and unwavering support, which have continued to contribute to the growth and development of the Centre.

Responding, HRH Etsu Luka Ayedo Nizassan III conveyed his profound gratitude for the visit, describing it as special and timely. He emphasized the importance of continued cooperation and peaceful coexistence, assuring the management of his support in achieving the mandate entrusted to them by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. HRH commended the President for stabilizing Nigeria’s economy, as well as for the massive infrastructural and human capital development projects across the nation. He, however, urged Mr. President to do more to ease the challenges faced by citizens, particularly the people of Kwali.

The Royal Father also extended his appreciation to the Hon. Minister of the FCT, His Excellency Barr. Nyesom Wike, for his transformative strides in both infrastructural and human capital development in the Federal Capital Territory.

In his contribution, the Director General of NMC, Prof. Promise Mebine, thanked HRH for the continuous cooperation and encouragement from the host community. He expressed optimism that this marks the beginning of even greater collaboration, noting that the management is committed to advancing its vision of transforming the National Mathematical Centre into the University of Mathematical Sciences
